Women's heated jackets run the same 7.4 V packs and the same carbon-fiber elements as men's — about 38.5 watt-hours in the common configuration. What changes is the cut, and cut matters thermally: an element only warms you where the fabric touches, so a jacket on the wrong last spends its battery on an air gap.
The fit problem is a heat problem
It would be convenient if 'women's heated jacket' meant only a different colorway and a shorter sleeve. It does not. A heated element transfers warmth by conduction into whatever is pressed against it, and by radiation into the space in front of it. Conduction is the efficient half. Radiation into a pocket of air inside a loose jacket is the expensive half.
Which means a jacket cut for a different body is not just less comfortable, it is less efficient with a battery that had very little to spare. On a 38.5 watt-hour budget there is no margin for warming air you are not touching.

Collar heat, and why it comes up more here
The neck is the most consistently under-served zone in heated apparel, and it is disproportionately raised by women shopping this category — plausibly because a shorter collar and a higher neckline leave more skin exposed to moving air than a men's cut does.
The four- and six-zone jackets are the ones that address it. That is the case where paying for extra zones is genuinely worth it, as opposed to the general case where extra zones just divide the same energy further. Watt-hours, and what they buy
Energy is capacity times nominal voltage. The ceiling draw is the pack’s own published output current times its voltage. The implied draw runs the maker’s advertised hours backwards. Nothing here is measured — check our working.

“Not derivable” means the manufacturer does not publish the figure the sum needs. We leave it blank rather than estimating it, borrowing a number from a similar model, or rounding one into existence. The layering answer nobody sells you
The single best-value item in this whole category, for women and men alike, is a heated vest worn under a coat you already own and already like. It puts the same elements over the same core zones, costs less, and lets your existing coat do the insulating — which means the battery is topping up rather than fighting the wind from scratch.
The case for a heated jacket instead is specific: you want the heated garment to be your outer layer, or you want sleeves heated. Both are legitimate. Neither is the default, and the default is what most people end up buying. The jacket-versus-vest decision is the page for this.
What we would skip, and why
- A men's small bought as a women's medium
- This is the most common heated-apparel mistake and it is a thermal one, not a cosmetic one. A heated element only works where it touches. A jacket cut for a different torso puts the chest elements in the wrong place and leaves an air gap doing the insulating, which is exactly what the battery is being spent to avoid.

- Are women's heated jackets different from men's?
- The electronics are usually identical — same voltage, same element type, often the same pack. The cut differs, and that matters thermally: an element warms you where it touches, so a jacket on the wrong last leaves an air gap that the battery then has to heat.
- How long does a women's heated jacket last?
- The same as a men's on the same pack. For the common 7.4 V, 5,200 mAh configuration the maker's own claim is 2-3 hours on high and 8-10 on low, and the pack's published 2.5 A output rating puts the physical floor a little over two hours.
- Which heated jacket has neck heating?
- The four- and six-zone models are the ones that include a collar element. It is the most commonly missing zone in the category and the one people notice most, so it is worth checking the element diagram rather than the zone count alone.
- Should I buy a heated jacket or a heated vest?
- A vest, unless you specifically want the heated garment to be your outer layer or want heated sleeves. The vest puts the same energy into the same core zones, costs less, and lets a coat you already own provide the insulation.
